How we invest our money

We invest our assets in accordance with our guidelines on ethical and sustainable investment. These criteria have been developed by the Foundation's own investment committee, which also monitors compliance. The decision on individual investments is made by the Foundation Board. We distinguish between criteria for the use of funds and conventional investment criteria such as security, return and availability.

We divide the most important criteria for the use of funds into so-called negative criteria and positive criteria.

A violation of the negative criteria excludes a product from our investment. Our list of negative criteria essentially corresponds to the negative criteria of the critical shareholders. For example, it excludes investments in armaments, nuclear technology and child labour.

The positive criteria, on the other hand, help us to select the investments that we want to use primarily for Bewegungsstiftung's assets. We invest primarily in companies and projects that test social or technical innovation, build an alternative structure or generate renewable energy.

No money for armaments, nuclear power or child labour!

We do not invest money in a product that violates our negative criteria. These are in substantial agreement with the negative criteria of the critical shareholders. This means that not one cent of Bewegungsstiftung's assets goes to armaments, exploitation, nuclear power or child labour!

More money for social change!

Instead, we use the positive criteria to select investments that meet our ethical standards. This means: We invest in companies and projects that test social and technical innovations, contribute to solving social problems and comply with social and ecological standards.
