Bewegungsstiftung offers many opportunities to get actively involved. The endowment donors meet several times a year in the "Advisory Board of Endowment Donors", while the representatives of the funded projects and the movement workers meet in the "Assembly of Funded Projects". There they elect their representatives to the Foundation Council and use their creativity and experience to advance the work of the Foundation. Once a year, endowment donors, activists and movement workers come together for a strategy workshop. Many endowment donors contribute to the foundation with their respective competences in many committees or independently.
The five-member Board of Trustees is the central decision-making body of the Foundation. It decides on funding and on the investment of the foundation's capital. The Board of Trustees is made up of one representative from each of the endowment donors and the funded projects, as well as three people with special knowledge or experience of social movements.

The Bewegungsstiftung has seven million euros in foundation capital. We invest this money and use the returns to support social movements and the work of the foundation. We view our foundation capital as a political lever and invest it in an ethical and sustainable manner. Our investment strategy is guided by an investment committee appointed by the foundation. It is currently composed of one donor, two external experts from the ethical investment sector, and the foundation’s Executive Director.

Bewegungsstiftung is based in Verden (Aller) near Bremen. The Ecological Centre there is also home to the offices of the team, which supports and coordinates the work of the voluntary bodies. The staff professionally take care of project support, public relations, investment, accounting, donation receipts and much more.
